When he was asked by Durarel to Slay some monsters, Romu always felt bad not to be able to use those shortcuts in Taverley or Slayer Dungeon. The first would have spare a nice walk and the blue dragons room. The last would have spare a very long walk.
Each time he thought : i have to train my agility to this level... and he did other things.
Skillaz organized its monthly skilling race in agility. 72 hours of skilling. It was a sign of Saradomin : you can do it.
Last competition he entered, romu always did it well but not really enough to win : lack of preparation and other problems. His honour was hurted each time. All the effort he put in, and those he asked for to familly wasn't enough rewarded !
He knew he had to do a Big comp this time.
--- Ingame preparation
Romu looked at his bank : was he ready for it ? yes. He had enough superenergy potions to overpass a 3 days agility train. What a good idea to have train farm and herblore.
--- IRL preparation
Romu checked his IRL planning and prepared his family. For The Luck it was one of those rare week ends no obligations were planified. For Best Luck : kids and wife were out most of the time : lovely school and birthday at friends. B)
Coffee and food stock were also high enough.
The competition is planed on GMT time with is 1 sooner than romu's. 0AM means 1 AM ! Romu went to sleep at 'normal' time.
Biip biiip biiip ! it is time !
Romu woke up and went to PC... Competition had start since 1 hour : anyway !
After a small jogg into kitchen, Romu installed himself in well prepared PC corner of the sleepy house, ready ! He felt good as he just changed the light source and some little things to make the space more comfortable. he logged in.
--- The race
At the start Romu had just got 71 agility and no more experience. It was 1.37 Mxp to go for 81 ! a long way... He decided to do Ape atoll all the long, using both supernergy and agility potions in the begining. In less a houndred laps, romu found the mindset and the way and rythm, he went the fastest. He put the camera at best and left away the keybord. This way he only had to clic in some screen areas at right time and do it again and again... At time to leave the house to go to work this friday, romu already got 2 levels. Having this nap before the comp was safe.
At noon time, the experience check showed no big gap. On evening romu was 3rd but not that far, considering the time.
It was then one more evening and night awake ! This time 3 players only were over and romu was in : wow. He took a half an hour nap before waking up his familly. Most oponents were sleeping. The morning was like the night, and so came the afternnon.
This saturday was amazing experience. Abuff let his 3rd place to Dark_Devell who came in very strong. We met in W45 where most skillaz did train. he was one of those monkeys i never caught : simply too fast for me but not that much.
In the early evening romu was 2nd, And Dark, who came late was 3rd. Bernice was still just on top of me.
Saturday, 6h30 Pm Gmt+1 comes his only obligation of the week end. Romu left for 2-3 hours. As he came back... internet was off. Dinner time ! no matter, it will be back soon.
... dinner done : no net !
... kids went to bed : no net !
... all house sleeping : no net !
... Rugby Woldcup end : no net ! Gratz to South Africa ! And what a good match !
... 2nd part evening tv shows : no net !
... 2 am : no net, go for a nap
... 3h15 (after a long waking up) : Dang ! it is back and surprise : still second !
Bernice left away and Dark was les than 90k on my back, but away. Roooaaaar ! Comp close in 19 hours !
Romu went back nervous. He had to leave the channel a moment to calm down.
19 hour : he still could go for his goal but he could not sleep anymore with Dark_Devell so close... Sunday was fast... and nothing moved : Bernice always controlled me and i was lucky on Dark_Devell.
Few hours before the competition ended, i had this message :
It was a big emotion ! Goal was reached.
Romu continued to reach the 1.4Mxp in competition and went for a nap. During the night, he was rewarded and proud. Even if Bernice did win, romu knows in was a good fight. Romu also know that Dark_Devell would have win in other conditions. But its the same game for every one : some day you can, some you can't whatever you put in it ! This time it was mine.
By the way, looking the way Dark_Devell was making his laps, i found lonely and lately why and when he was faster than me on a specific obstacle.
I tested it on other players and started to catch all of them !!! This is also a big win for a further run to the cape.
Romu achieved his goal in those harassing but pleasant 72hours. Time has come for a rest week in slow skilling.
